Job Overview
The Geotechnical Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and safety of mining operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and assessments to ensure rock stability in mining areas
- Design and implement geotechnical solutions to mitigate rockfalls and slope instability
- Collaborate with mining engineers to optimize extraction methods and ensure safe mining practices
- Monitor and analyze geotechnical data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain geotechnical models and databases
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in the mining sector
- Strong understanding of rock mechanics and geotechnical principles
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools (e.g., RocFall, Slide, and numerical modeling)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Education
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Experience
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on mining operations, is required.
Salary
