Job Overview
This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining advanced aerospace systems for defense and commercial applications. The position is part of Thales Group’s initiative to strengthen Zimbabwe’s aerospace sector through local expertise and international collaboration. Candidates will work on next-generation technologies while contributing to national and global aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze aerospace systems, including avionics, propulsion, and structural components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems into defense and commercial aircraft.
- Conduct simulations and tests to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Develop technical documentation and reports for project stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging aerospace technologies and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges.
- Experience with aerospace regulations and certification processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of defense systems or satellite technology is a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in aerospace systems design or defense engineering. Prior work in aviation technology or defense projects is advantageous.
Salary
250,000 – 350,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
