Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the delivery of solar power projects from concept to commissioning in Victoria Falls. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure projects meet schedule, budget and quality goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, cost and risk.
  • Lead procurement and EPC contract negotiations in line with local regulations.
  • Secure permits, land access and stakeholder approvals from government and community leaders.
  • Monitor construction progress, conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures and report financial performance.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing and handover of completed solar installations.

Required Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of solar PV technology and grid integration.
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) and proven leadership experience.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with officials, investors and local communities.
  • Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office.
  • Ability to lead multicultural teams and promote collaboration.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or specialised certifications in solar energy or sustainable development are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum five to seven years of hands‑on experience managing utility‑scale solar projects, preferably within Africa, and familiarity with Zimbabwean regulatory frameworks.

Salary

Competitive remuneration ranging from SSP 500,000 to SSP 800,000 per month, with performance‑based bonuses and long‑term incentives.
