Job Overview

The Environmental Compliance Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental policies and procedures for Murray & Roberts’ projects in the Kariba region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive environmental compliance plans aligned with Zimbabwean legislation and international standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and impact assessments to identify potential environmental risks.
• Prepare and submit accurate environmental reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory authorities.
• Provide technical guidance and training to project teams on environmental best practices and mitigation measures.
• Monitor waste management, water usage, emissions, and biodiversity impacts, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Engage with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies to address environmental concerns and foster transparent communication.

Education

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a closely related discipline. Experience

A minimum of three to five years of hands‑on experience in environmental compliance, impact assessment, or sustainability roles within the construction, mining, or energy sectors is required.
