Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forestry Systems Specialist to join our team in Karoi, Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts, including the use of remote sensing and GIS technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital forestry systems to support conservation efforts
  • Conduct remote sensing and GIS analysis to inform forestry management decisions
  • Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable forestry practices
  • Provide training and technical assistance to local staff and partners on digital forestry systems

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in digital forestry systems, remote sensing, and GIS analysis
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and software development
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
