Job Overview

The Environmental Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all organizational activities and local development projects adhere to both national environmental laws and international conservation standards. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for all new conservation and community development projects.
• Monitor field operations to ensure strict adherence to national environmental regulations and international best practices.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) to mitigate potential ecological risks.
• Liaise with government agencies and local authorities to ensure full regulatory compliance and reporting.
• Prepare detailed compliance reports and audit findings for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with community leaders to integrate traditional ecological knowledge into formal compliance frameworks.
• Lead internal environmental audits to identify areas for improvement in operational procedures.

Experience

A minimum of five years of professional experience in environmental management, compliance auditing, or ecological impact assessment is required. Proven experience working in West Africa or within similar tropical forest ecosystems is highly desirable. Salary

The starting salary for this position is 45,000 SSP per month, with a maximum range of 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications. This salary is subject to statutory deductions as per Liberian labor laws.
