Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions for AWS’s diverse client base in Zimbabwe and the broader Southern Africa region. Key Responsibilities

  • Design end‑to‑end cloud architectures that meet performance, security, and cost objectives.
  • Engage with clients to gather requirements, conduct workshops, and present solution proposals.
  • Develop reference architectures, proof‑of‑concepts, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with AWS engineering teams to integrate new services and features.
  • Provide guidance on migration strategies from on‑premises to AWS cloud.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, data sovereignty, and industry standards.
  • Mentor junior architects and contribute to internal knowledge bases.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on customer success.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing and deploying cloud solutions on AWS.
