Job Overview
The Strategic Mine Development Analyst will lead feasibility studies, financial modeling, and risk assessments for new mining projects in the Murewa region. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Planning, the analyst will collaborate with geologists, engineers, finance teams, and external consultants to translate geological data into actionable development plans. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive geological and technical assessments to evaluate mineral resource potential.
- Develop detailed financial models, including cash flow, NPV, IRR, and sensitivity analyses.
- Prepare feasibility and pre‑feasibility reports that meet international reporting standards (JORC, NI 43‑101).
- Identify and mitigate project risks through scenario planning and contingency strategies.
- Collaborate with environmental and community liaison teams to integrate ESG considerations into project plans.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and regulatory changes affecting mining operations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in mining software such as Surpac, Micromine, or Vulcan.
- Strong analytical abilities with expertise in Excel, VBA, and financial modeling tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder presentations.
- Project management experience, including timeline and budget control.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to fast‑changing project environments.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CMA) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must possess at least five years of relevant experience in mine development, feasibility studies, or strategic planning within the mining industry. Experience in African mining contexts, particularly in Southern Africa, will be viewed favorably.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 400,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and long‑term incentive plans are also part of the compensation package.
