Incumbent Superior (2nd Level): General Manager – Life & Funeral

Subordinates: Marketing Agents

Grade: DV6

Duties and Responsibilities

-Meeting planned sales targets within the region.-Growing the company’s existing book across all market segments.-Sourcing new corporate business.-Maintaining positive customer relations and actively retaining the existing clientele database.-Undertaking market research and intelligence activities.-Managing and coordinating sales agents to ensure they are fully resourced, supported, and engaged.-Driving agents’ performance through reviews and capacity development initiatives.-Providing administrative support to the region, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed and submitted on time.-Constantly benchmarking service delivery capability to measure and determine the right product mix responsive to changing market trends.-Actively seeking opportunities to upsell and cross-sell to existing customers.-Obtaining referrals from current clientele to expand the sales pipeline.-Handling customer queries on issues such as funeral cover types, policy upgrades, and amendments.-Collecting premiums and ensuring all money is banked correctly and timeously.-Leading, managing, developing, and working with Human Resources to recruit, select, and discipline marketing agents.

Qualifications and Experience

-First degree in Marketing or Business Studies from a recognised university.-Minimum five (5) years proven track record/experience in sales and leadership (mandatory).-Proven experience in leading teams is an added advantage.-Clean Class 2/4 driver’s licence.
