Job Overview
The Industrial Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain advanced automation systems for our manufacturing clients in Bulawayo and surrounding regions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and program PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and motion control systems for manufacturing lines.
- Conduct system integration, testing, and commissioning of automation equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing automation installations.
- Create detailed documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and Siemens quality protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce operational costs.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Siemens STEP 7, TIA Portal).
- Strong knowledge of industrial networks (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Problem‑solving mindset with excellent analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and IoT integration.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Siemens Certified Programmer or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment. Proven track record of delivering successful automation projects from concept to completion is essential.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 600,000 to 900,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
