Job Overview
This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing energy storage systems to enhance renewable energy integration and grid reliability. The position requires collaboration with engineers, project managers, and government stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge energy storage solutions tailored to Zimbabwe’s evolving energy landscape. Candidates will contribute to EnGoPower’s mission of reducing carbon emissions and expanding energy access across rural and urban centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop energy storage systems (ESS) for solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for energy storage deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with existing power infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and compliance certifications
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to explain project benefits
Required Skills
- Expertise in lithium-ion, flow battery, or other energy storage technologies
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, PVsyst)
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Zimbabwe’s energy regulations and grid standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering or Sustainable Technologies is preferred.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in energy storage system design, implementation, or maintenance. Prior experience in sub-Saharan Africa or emerging markets is a significant advantage.
Salary
SSP 120,000 – 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
