Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Forestry Systems Specialist to join our team in Nyanga, Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing digital forestry systems to support our conservation efforts in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement digital forestry systems to support conservation efforts
- Develop and maintain databases and software applications to track forest health and conservation progress
- Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement forest management plans
- Conduct research and analysis to inform conservation decisions and policy development
- Develop and deliver training programs for local communities and stakeholders on digital forestry systems and conservation practices
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in digital forestry systems design and implementation
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Experience with database management and software development
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
