Job Overview
ZREA is seeking a dynamic Decentralized Energy Systems Engineer to design, implement, and manage off-grid renewable energy solutions in Chiredzi. Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize decentralized energy systems, including solar microgrids and hybrid power solutions.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for rural electrification projects.
- Collaborate with local communities to identify energy needs and co-develop sustainable solutions.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of energy infrastructure.
- Prepare technical reports and project proposals for funding and stakeholder review.
- Provide training and capacity-building programs for local technicians and community members.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in renewable energy system design and implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex energy challenges.
- Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, PVsyst).
- Excellent project management and cross-cultural communication abilities.
- Knowledge of local energy regulations and international sustainability standards.
- Ability to work in remote and resource-constrained environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred (specializing in Energy Systems or Sustainable Development).
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in decentralized energy systems or rural electrification projects.
- Previous work in Zimbabwe or Southern Africa is an advantage.
Salary
150,000 – 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
