Job Overview
This role involves designing and implementing digital twin systems for wind energy projects in Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and project managers to create virtual replicas of physical wind turbines and energy networks. The position is based in Kwekwe, a hub for Zimbabwe’s renewable energy initiatives, and offers opportunities to contribute to national climate goals while working with advanced simulation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop digital twin models for wind turbines and energy distribution systems
- Integrate IoT sensors and real-time data streams into simulation platforms
- Optimize energy output predictions using machine learning algorithms
- Collaborate with field engineers to validate model accuracy against physical systems
- Prepare technical documentation for system maintenance and scalability
Required Skills
- Proficiency in digital twin software (e.g., Siemens Xcelerator, Unity Digital Twin)
- Experience with wind energy systems and grid integration
- Strong analytical skills in data modeling and simulation
- Knowledge of IoT protocols and cloud computing platforms
- Excellent communication for cross-disciplinary teamwork
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
- Master’s Degree preferred in Renewable Energy Systems or Data Science
Experience
- 3-5 years in digital twin development or energy systems engineering
- Previous projects in renewable energy sector
Salary
250,000 – 350,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
