Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician to join our technical operations team in Boffa. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and performance of our expansive network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex telecommunications equipment, including base stations, microwave links, and fiber optic systems. This position requires a deep understanding of signal propagation, network architecture, and advanced diagnostic tools. As we continue to expand our network coverage, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring that our services remain uninterrupted and efficient. Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced installation and configuration of cellular base stations and microwave transmission equipment.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on network hardware to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults in the radio frequency (RF) and transmission layers.
- Supervise field technicians during large-scale infrastructure upgrades and new site deployments.
- Collaborate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to monitor real-time performance and respond to alarms.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and site logs for all infrastructure activities.
- Ensure all technical operations comply with local regulatory standards and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Expertise in RF engineering principles and microwave link alignment.
- Proficiency in using advanced network testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers and OTDRs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software-based network issues.
- Ability to interpret complex technical schematics and architectural diagrams.
- Excellent project management and team leadership capabilities.
- Strong communication skills for reporting technical status to management.
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is mandatory. Professional certifications in Cisco, Nokia, or Ericsson technologies are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in telecommunications infrastructure maintenance and installation. Proven experience working in remote or challenging environments is a significant advantage. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory capacity within a major telecom provider is preferred.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical certifications. This competitive package reflects the specialized nature of the role and the high level of expertise required.
