Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing financing solutions for renewable energy projects across Zimbabwe. Reporting to the Head of Project Finance, the analyst will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, legal, and risk management, to ensure that each project meets financial viability criteria and aligns with the bank’s risk appetite. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial modeling for solar, wind, hydro, and biomass projects, including cash flow projections, debt service coverage ratios, and sensitivity analyses.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda and presentation decks for internal credit committees and external investors.
- Coordinate due diligence activities, liaising with technical advisors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies to gather necessary documentation.
- Assess credit risk, evaluate collateral structures, and recommend appropriate financing terms and covenants.
- Monitor ongoing project performance, track key financial metrics, and prepare periodic reports for senior management.
- Support the development of innovative financing structures such as green bonds, blended finance, and public‑private partnerships.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes, market trends, and policy developments affecting renewable energy financing in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and market dynamics.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FRM are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
