Job Overview

The Learning Experience Designer will lead the creation, development, and optimization of interactive learning modules, courses, and assessment tools for Pearson’s digital portfolio in Zimbabwe. Working closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and multimedia developers, you will translate complex educational content into engaging, learner‑centered experiences that meet international standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive e‑learning courses using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with curriculum standards.
• Apply instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) to create learner‑focused experiences that promote knowledge retention.
• Integrate multimedia elements, including video, audio, graphics, and simulations, to enhance engagement.
• Conduct usability testing and gather learner feedback to iteratively improve course quality.
• Ensure all learning assets comply with accessibility guidelines and Pearson’s quality standards.
• Maintain documentation of design decisions, version control, and project timelines.
• Support the localization of global content for the Zimbabwean market, incorporating cultural relevance and language nuances.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with e‑learning authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Creative problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player comfortable working in cross‑functional environments.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications such as ATD’s CPLP or a Master’s degree are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of proven experience designing and delivering digital learning solutions, preferably within the African education market or similar emerging economies.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 400,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and professional development allowances are also offered.
