Job Overview

The Insurance Underwriting Manager will lead the underwriting team in evaluating risk, pricing policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and pricing models aligned with Zimnat’s risk appetite.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of underwriters to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Conduct complex risk assessments for corporate and high‑value personal insurance proposals.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and product development teams to design competitive insurance products.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and profitability, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Insurance Act, regulatory guidelines, and internal audit standards.
  • Represent Zimnat in industry forums, conferences, and client meetings to promote underwriting expertise.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to enhance underwriting accuracy and speed.

Education

Experience

Applicants must possess a minimum of five to seven years of progressive underwriting experience within the insurance industry, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in life and health insurance underwriting, as well as exposure to commercial lines, will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 600,000 to SSP 900,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, a performance‑based bonus structure and other financial incentives are part of the remuneration package.
