Job Overview

The Head of Sustainable Supply Chain will lead Delta Corporation’s transformation toward a greener, more resilient supply chain. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this senior role will design and execute strategies that embed environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic efficiency across procurement, production, logistics, and distribution. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local and international sustainability standards while optimizing cost structures and service levels. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Sustainable Supply Chain strategy that aligns with Delta’s corporate ESG goals.
• Lead the integration of circular economy principles, including waste reduction, recycling, and product lifecycle management.
• Oversee sustainable procurement practices, ensuring suppliers meet ethical, environmental, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Production, Quality Assurance, and R&D departments to embed sustainability into product design and manufacturing processes.
• Drive carbon‑footprint reduction initiatives across transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability, monitor progress, and report outcomes to senior leadership.
• Manage risk assessments related to climate change, resource scarcity, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and industry groups, to stay abreast of best practices and emerging regulations.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of supply chain analysts, sustainability specialists, and procurement professionals.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability throughout the supply chain function.

Required Skills

• Strategic thinking with a proven ability to translate sustainability concepts into actionable business plans.
• Deep knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and procurement processes within a manufacturing context.
• Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, ISO 14001, and relevant Zimbabwean environmental regulations.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CIPS, or a recognized ESG credential are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership, with at least three (3) years focused on sustainability initiatives within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success in leading large‑scale transformation projects, managing supplier sustainability programs, and delivering measurable environmental outcomes is essential.

Salary
