Job Overview

As a Cybersecurity Analyst at Microsoft Zimbabwe, you will join a dynamic Information Security team responsible for safeguarding the organization’s assets, customers, and partners against emerging threats. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) platforms to detect and analyze potential threats.
• Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation steps.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with IT, network, and application teams to implement security controls and hardening measures.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with relevant stakeholders.
• Stay updated on the latest cyber threat trends, attack vectors, and industry best practices.
• Assist in compliance audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as GDPR and local data protection laws.
• Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees across all departments.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk) and log analysis.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
• Understanding of cloud security concepts, especially within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.

Education
