Job Overview
The Branch Operations Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the Mutare branch, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing processes, and delivering superior service quality. This pivotal position reports directly to the Regional Operations Director and collaborates closely with the Branch Manager, Sales teams, and support functions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, risk mitigation, and profitability, contributing to the bank’s overarching mission of providing reliable financial services across Zimbabwe.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day branch operations, including cash handling, transaction processing, and customer service delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe regulations, internal policies, and anti‑money‑laundering procedures.
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency through process mapping, automation, and performance metrics.
- Manage and develop a team of operational staff, providing coaching, performance reviews, and career development plans.
- Coordinate with the IT department to maintain system integrity, resolve technical issues, and implement new banking solutions.
- Prepare and present operational reports, risk assessments, and audit findings to senior management.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support product launches and promotional activities.
- Oversee branch security protocols, including physical security, fraud detection, and incident response.

- Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership and people‑management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data‑driven decision making.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in core banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Banking Operations Professional (CBOP) or AML certifications are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in bank operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in a multi‑branch environment and exposure to digital banking platforms are highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 600,000 to SSP 900,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a pension scheme.
