Job Overview

The Agricultural Credit Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating loan applications from farmers, agribusinesses and related enterprises. Reporting to the Credit Manager, the analyst will conduct thorough financial assessments, risk analyses and field visits to ensure that credit decisions align with the bank’s risk appetite and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections and collateral for agricultural loan proposals.
  • Conduct on‑site farm visits to assess production capacity, land use and management practices.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports and present recommendations to the Credit Committee.
  • Monitor existing agricultural loan portfolios, identifying early warning signs of default and proposing remedial actions.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers to structure loan packages that meet client needs while mitigating risk.
  • Stay updated on agricultural market trends, commodity price fluctuations and regulatory changes affecting the sector.
  • Assist in the development of new agricultural financing products and risk assessment tools.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in financial modeling and ratio analysis.
  • In‑depth knowledge of agricultural production cycles, input costs and revenue streams.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with farmers, senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple dossiers and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with banking software is an advantage.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA or a recognized credit analysis qualification are considered a plus.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in credit analysis, loan underwriting or risk assessment, preferably within the agricultural sector or a bank that serves rural clients. Experience conducting field assessments and working with farm management teams is highly valued.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the remuneration package.
