Job Overview

The Sustainability Analyst will support Nestlé Zimbabwe’s sustainability strategy by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on environmental performance metrics. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement initiatives that reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and enhance sustainable sourcing practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data on energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and carbon emissions across manufacturing sites.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly sustainability reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators.
  • Support the development and implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs.
  • Collaborate with procurement to assess and improve the sustainability of raw material sourcing.
  • Assist in conducting life‑cycle assessments for new product lines.
  • Monitor compliance with local environmental regulations and international standards such as ISO 14001.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for employees on sustainability best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through energy efficiency and resource optimization.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, GRI, and ESG reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Project management experience and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the food & beverage manufacturing environment is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as LEED, GRI, or a Master’s degree are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, environmental compliance, or a similar role within manufacturing or a related industry. Experience in the Zimbabwean regulatory landscape is highly valued.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
