Job Overview

The Postal Services Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day activities of Zimpost’s Bulawayo hub, ensuring efficient processing, sorting, and delivery of mail and parcels across the region. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational functions of the Bulawayo hub, including sorting, dispatch, and delivery processes.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, customer satisfaction, and cost per parcel.
  • Lead a team of supervisors, clerks, and delivery personnel, providing coaching, performance reviews, and career development support.
  • Coordinate with the IT department to implement automation tools, tracking systems, and digital payment solutions.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including e‑commerce platforms, government agencies, and logistics providers.
  • Ensure compliance with national postal regulations, health and safety standards, and security protocols.
  • Prepare operational budgets, forecast staffing needs, and control expenses to meet financial targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Represent Zimpost in community outreach programs and corporate social responsibility activities.
