Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all automotive components and finished vehicles meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain quality assurance procedures and work instructions.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of components, sub‑assemblies, and final vehicles.
• Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949 and local regulations.
• Analyze defect data, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with design, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality considerations early in the product lifecycle.
• Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor supplier performance and enforce quality agreements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma projects.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards (ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and quality management software.
• Excellent problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with internal teams and external partners.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.

Experience

Candidates should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in quality assurance or quality control within the automotive manufacturing sector. Experience with supplier quality management and familiarity with local regulatory requirements for vehicle production in Zimbabwe are essential.

Salary
