Job Overview

The Software Development Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team of developers, architects, and quality engineers to design, build, and maintain enterprise‑grade applications for IBM’s clients in Zimbabwe and beyond. Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the software development roadmap aligned with client objectives and IBM standards.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of 10+ software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Oversee full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Ensure code quality, security, and performance through rigorous review processes and automated testing.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet delivery commitments.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and incorporate relevant advancements into project designs.
  • Report progress and risks to senior leadership and contribute to strategic planning.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.

Education

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 600,000 to SSP 1,200,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and stock options may be included.
