Job Overview

The Construction Project Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in the planning, monitoring, and controlling of construction projects within the Mutare region. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost, schedule, and performance baselines, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for assigned projects.
• Monitor project performance against baselines and generate variance analysis reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Produce regular progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Support the preparation of claims, change orders, and final account reconciliations.
• Participate in project meetings and provide expert advice on schedule and cost implications.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in project control software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑CPM, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in construction project controls, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure projects. Experience in the Southern African construction market is an advantage.

Salary
