Job Overview
The Senior E-Learning Instructional Designer will play a pivotal role in the digital evolution of Liberia College. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive online learning experiences that are pedagogically sound, engaging, and technologically seamless. You will work closely with subject matter experts and faculty members to translate complex academic curricula into interactive digital modules. This role requires a deep understanding of adult learning theories, multimedia integration, and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality asynchronous and synchronous online learning modules using advanced instructional design methodologies.
- Collaborate with faculty members to convert traditional course materials into interactive digital content.
- Manage and optimize the institutional Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure a seamless user experience for students and instructors.
- Integrate multimedia elements such as video, interactive quizzes, and simulations to enhance learner engagement.
- Conduct regular usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve digital course effectiveness.
- Provide technical guidance and training to academic staff on digital teaching tools and online pedagogy.
- Ensure all digital content meets accessibility standards (WCAG) to support inclusive learning environments.
Required Skills
- Expertise in instructional design models such as ADDIE, SAM, or Dick and Carey.
- Proficiency in using authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia.
- Advanced knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple course development projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with diverse academic stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of web accessibility standards and universal design for learning (UDL).
Education
A Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with significant professional experience may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, specifically within a higher education or corporate training environment. Proven experience in managing large-scale digital learning projects is highly desirable. We are looking for professionals who have successfully launched online programs that demonstrate high student retention and engagement rates.
Salary
