Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Green Infrastructure Developer to lead the design and implementation of sustainable urban green infrastructure projects in Kwekwe. This role involves developing strategies to incorporate green spaces, permeable surfaces, and vegetation into urban environments to mitigate environmental challenges such as heat islands, flooding, and biodiversity loss. The successful candidate will work closely with municipal authorities, urban planners, and environmental experts to create scalable solutions that align with global sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement green infrastructure projects, including urban forests, green roofs, and rain gardens.
• Conduct site assessments to identify opportunities for integrating green solutions into existing urban layouts.
• Collaborate with municipal planners and stakeholders to align projects with local development plans and regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of implemented projects using data-driven methodologies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and funding proposals for project sustainability and scalability.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in urban planning, environmental engineering, or sustainable infrastructure development.
• Proficiency in GIS mapping and CAD software for project design and visualization.
• Strong analytical skills to assess environmental data and propose actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities to facilitate cross-sector collaboration.
• Knowledge of climate resilience strategies and green building certification standards (e.g., LEED).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development or Environmental Management is an added advantage.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in green infrastructure development, preferably in urban environments. Experience working with municipal governments or international NGOs is highly desirable.

Salary

2,000,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
