Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement urban resilience strategies that address climate change impacts.
- Collaborate with local authorities to develop sustainable zoning and infrastructure plans.
- Conduct feasibility studies for green building projects and public spaces.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and environmental experts to ensure compliance with sustainability standards.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting project impacts and benefits.
Required Skills
- Expertise in urban planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS).
- Knowledge of climate adaptation frameworks and sustainable design principles.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable urban development plans.
- Fluency in English and local languages (Shona/Ndebele) is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development is preferred.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in urban development, preferably with projects focused on climate resilience or green infrastructure. Experience in Zimbabwe or Southern Africa is advantageous.
Salary
150,000 – 250,000 SSP Annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
