Job Overview

This role focuses on implementing precision agriculture technologies, including GPS-guided equipment, data analytics, and IoT-enabled farm management systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with farmers, agronomists, and technical teams to optimize crop yields while minimizing environmental impact. The position is based in Chitungwiza, with frequent field visits across Zimbabwe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement precision agriculture solutions tailored to local farming needs.
  • Provide technical support for GPS, drone, and sensor-based crop monitoring systems.
  • Analyze agricultural data to recommend improvements in irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
  • Conduct training sessions for farmers on the use of digital farming tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop sustainable agricultural practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and agricultural data analysis software.
  • Experience with IoT devices and farm management platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in remote field environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of Zimbabwean agricultural policies and challenges.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree in Precision Agriculture or Technology is an advantage.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in agricultural technology, preferably in a consulting or field implementation role. Prior work in Zimbabwe or neighboring countries is preferred.

Salary

150,000 – 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
