Finance Student Intern
Location: Mberengwa (Near Zvishavane)
Job Type: Internship
Job Purpose
The Finance Student Intern will support the Program Finance Officer in daily finance and administrative operations, gaining hands-on experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit support, and NGO financial management systems.
This internship is ideal for students seeking exposure to real-world finance processes, bookkeeping, and financial controls within a humanitarian organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with asset register updates and physical asset verification
- Support stock-taking and inventory management processes
- Handle document filing, photocopying, and records management (fuel receipts, tollgate receipts, vouchers)
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and budget explanations
- Ensure cash vouchers are properly completed, verified, and authorized
- Verify supporting documents for audits and compliance checks
- Maintain financial accuracy, transparency, and accountability
- Uphold organizational values, ethics, and integrity standards
- Support general finance administration and office operations
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and teamwork in daily tasks
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and computerized accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling
- Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information
- Ability to work in a team-oriented NGO environment
Qualifications & Experience
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Exposure to cash handling, bookkeeping, or finance-related tasks is an advantage
- Interest in NGO finance, donor-funded projects, and community programs
