Job Overview

Esri Zimbabwe is seeking a skilled Remote Sensing and GIS Analyst to support environmental monitoring projects in Makonde. This role will leverage satellite imagery and geospatial tools to analyze land use changes, track deforestation, and support conservation efforts. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct remote sensing analysis using satellite and aerial imagery.
  • Develop GIS maps and spatial models to support environmental assessments.
  • Collaborate with conservation teams to monitor biodiversity hotspots.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update geospatial databases.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Experience with remote sensing platforms (Landsat, Sentinel).
  • Strong analytical skills in spatial data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring protocols.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in GIS or Remote Sensing is a plus.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in remote sensing, GIS analysis, or environmental monitoring. Prior work in conservation or land management projects is preferred.

Salary

2500 – 3500 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
