We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Cultural Asset Manager to join our team in Gwanda, Zimbabwe.
Job Overview
The Digital Cultural Asset Manager will be responsible for managing and preserving digital cultural assets, including digital collections, archives, and databases. The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital humanities, cultural heritage, and digital archiving.
The job involves working with various stakeholders, including cultural institutions, museums, and archives, to collect, digitize, and preserve cultural artifacts and documents. The Digital Cultural Asset Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing digital preservation strategies and policies.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital preservation technologies, including digital asset management systems, metadata standards, and digital repository software.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve digital cultural assets, including digital collections, archives, and databases
- Develop and implement digital preservation strategies and policies
- Collaborate with cultural institutions, museums, and archives to collect, digitize, and preserve cultural artifacts and documents
- Develop and maintain digital asset management systems, metadata standards, and digital repository software
- Provide training and support to staff on digital preservation and digital asset management
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Digital Humanities or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in digital cultural asset management and preservation
- Strong understanding of digital preservation technologies, including digital asset management systems, metadata standards, and digital repository software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Digital Humanities or a related field. A Ph.D. in Digital Humanities or a related field will be an added advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in digital cultural asset management and preservation. Experience in working with cultural institutions, museums, and archives will be an added advantage.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.

Training
