Job Overview

The Agri-Food Supply Chain Analyst will lead initiatives to design and implement sustainable supply chain solutions for Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector. This role involves analyzing production, distribution, and market access challenges for staple crops, while collaborating with stakeholders to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct supply chain audits for maize, wheat, and other staple crops to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
  • Develop data-driven strategies to optimize storage, transportation, and distribution networks for smallholder farmers.
  • Collaborate with local cooperatives, government agencies, and private sector partners to implement supply chain improvements.
  • Utilize GIS and supply chain software to model scenarios and forecast demand-supply gaps.
  • Provide training and capacity-building programs for farmers on modern supply chain practices.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of interventions on food security and economic outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in agricultural supply chain analysis and optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience in designing digital supply chain platforms or mobile-based logistics solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Knowledge of Zimbabwe’s agricultural policies and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work in remote rural environments and adapt to field conditions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred, with a focus on Food Systems or Sustainable Agriculture.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in agricultural supply chain management or food systems development.
  • Previous work with NGOs, research institutions, or international development organizations is advantageous.

Salary

200,000 – 300,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
