Job Overview

The Agricultural Equipment Sales Manager will lead sales for John Deere’s tractor and implement portfolio in Harare and surrounding districts. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, you will create and execute sales plans, grow dealer networks and close high‑value deals, directly contributing to John Deere’s growth targets and Zimbabwe’s agricultural transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and acquire new dealer partners and large farming clients across Harare.
  • Develop territory sales plans focused on volume and profitability.
  • Conduct product demos and technical presentations for prospects.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing and financing options.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Collaborate with service, parts and training teams for seamless customer experience.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
  • Represent John Deere at agricultural exhibitions and outreach events.

Required Skills

  • Proven record of meeting sales targets in agricultural equipment or heavy machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of Zimbabwean farming practices and mechanisation needs.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Ability to analyse market data and create actionable sales plans.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent English; Shona or Ndebele a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Agricultural Engineering or a related field is required. Professional sales or agronomy certifications are a plus.

Experience

Minimum five (5) years selling agricultural machinery or related technology solutions, preferably in Zimbabwe or Southern Africa, with demonstrated success managing dealer networks and large accounts.

Salary

Competitive salary range of SSP 350,000 – 500,000 per month, plus performance‑based commissions and allowances.
