Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist to join our growing team in Salala. This critical role involves leading complex environmental assessments for large-scale infrastructure, agricultural, and conservation projects across the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential environmental risks, designing mitigation strategies, and ensuring that all project activities comply with both Liberian environmental laws and international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards. This is a high-level technical position that requires a blend of field-based data collection, sophisticated modeling, and high-level stakeholder engagement.

As a Senior Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the environmental landscape of Liberia. You will lead multidisciplinary teams of field technicians, ecologists, and sociologists to produce comprehensive reports that guide decision-making for major development projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) studies for diverse sectors.
• Develop and implement Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) to mitigate negative project impacts.
• Conduct rigorous field surveys and data analysis to assess biodiversity, soil health, and water quality.
• Liaise with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Liberia to ensure all regulatory permits and compliance requirements are met.
• Facilitate public consultation processes and stakeholder engagement workshops to ensure community concerns are addressed.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental audits, and compliance monitoring documents for international donors and government bodies.
• Supervise junior environmental officers and field technicians during data collection and site inspections.
• Monitor emerging environmental trends and regulatory changes to ensure organizational compliance.

Required Skills

Salary
