Job Overview

The Infrastructure Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and reporting on project performance metrics for a multi‑billion SSP construction programme in Chegutu. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. This position plays a pivotal role in risk mitigation, change management, and the delivery of accurate forecasts that support decision‑making at senior levels. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Track cost performance, analyze variances, and prepare monthly earned value reports.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment of scope and deliverables.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation and impact analysis.
  • Prepare and present performance dashboards to senior management and client representatives.
  • Support the preparation of progress claims and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and corporate governance policies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in project control software (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a focus on earned value management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of Zimbabwean construction codes, standards, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Shona or Ndebele is an advantage.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in project controls within large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects. Prior exposure to African markets, especially Zimbabwe, will be considered a strong asset.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 500,000 to SSP 800,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances are also part of the total rewards structure.
