Job Overview

This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of temperature-sensitive supply chains in Zimbabwe. The Cold Chain Logistics Specialist will oversee the transportation, storage, and distribution of perishable goods while ensuring compliance with international standards. The position offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge refrigeration systems and contribute to sustainable logistics solutions in a rapidly growing market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize temperature-controlled logistics operations for perishable goods
  • Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and transport partners to ensure cold chain continuity
  • Implement and maintain compliance with ISO 22000 and HACCP standards
  • Conduct audits of refrigeration equipment and cold storage facilities
  • Develop contingency plans for cold chain disruptions (e.g., power outages, equipment failures)
  • Analyze logistics data to improve efficiency and reduce waste

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled transportation
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems and cold storage technologies
  • Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., SAP, TMS)
  • Strong problem-solving skills for resolving supply chain disruptions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
  • Understanding of Zimbabwean and international cold chain regulations

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Certification in Cold Chain Management (CCM) preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years in logistics operations with a focus on temperature-controlled supply chains
  • Experience in Zimbabwean logistics or regional trade is an advantage

Salary

250,000 – 350,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and performance.
