Job Overview
This role is ideal for professionals passionate about leveraging technology to solve agricultural challenges. The AgriTech Innovation Specialist will lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions to enhance crop yields, reduce environmental impact, and improve supply chain efficiency in Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and pilot agri-tech solutions such as IoT-based soil monitoring systems and AI-driven crop analytics.
- Collaborate with local farmers, research institutions, and government agencies to identify agricultural pain points.
- Conduct field trials to test the efficacy of new technologies in diverse climatic conditions.
- Develop training programs to educate farmers on adopting modern agricultural practices.
- Monitor and report on the environmental and economic impact of implemented solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in agricultural technology, data analysis, or sustainable farming practices.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering innovation projects.
- Proficiency in using GIS mapping tools, agricultural software, and data visualization platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Knowledge of Zimbabwe’s agricultural policies and challenges.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees (MSc/PhD) in AgriTech or similar fields are a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in agricultural technology, research, or innovation management. Prior experience in Zimbabwe or other African markets is highly advantageous.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
