Job Overview

The Regional Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in designing, integrating, and delivering end‑to‑end telecommunications solutions for Huawei’s enterprise and carrier customers across the Southern African region. Reporting to the Head of Solutions Architecture, the role involves close collaboration with sales, product management, and engineering teams to translate complex customer requirements into scalable, secure, and future‑proof architectures. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through digital transformation journeys, ensuring optimal performance, and driving revenue growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end solution design process for carrier and enterprise customers, from requirement gathering to final implementation.
  • Develop detailed technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and bill‑of‑materials that align with customer business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify new business opportunities and support bid management activities.
  • Conduct proof‑of‑concept (PoC) demonstrations, technical workshops, and product presentations for stakeholders.
  • Provide expert guidance on network integration, cloud migration, 5G deployment, IoT, and AI‑enabled services.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and Huawei’s security policies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the regional team.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry bodies to stay abreast of market trends.

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of telecom network architectures, including 4G/5G, core, transport, and access layers.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (Huawei Cloud, AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
  • Experience with solution design tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or cloud certifications are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in solution architecture, network design, or systems integration within the telecommunications sector. Prior experience working with multinational vendors or in a regional role will be considered an advantage.

Salary
