Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Irrigation Engineer to lead our water management initiatives in the Danane region. This role is critical to our mission of enhancing agricultural productivity through advanced irrigation technologies and sustainable water resource management. The successful candidate will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex irrigation systems that support local farming communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and supervise the construction of large-scale surface and drip irrigation systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive hydrological studies and water availability assessments.
  • Manage technical teams and contractors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Implement sustainable water conservation techniques to mitigate the effects of climate change.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources for infrastructure development.
  • Collaborate with local agricultural extension officers to integrate engineering solutions with farming practices.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and feasibility studies for upcoming irrigation projects.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in irrigation engineering or water resource management, preferably within a development or international NGO context. Proven experience in managing multi-million dollar infrastructure projects in sub-Saharan Africa is highly desirable. You should have a track record of working in rural environments and managing multidisciplinary teams.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 750,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical proficiency. This competitive package reflects the high level of responsibility and technical skill required for this role.
