Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, unannounced safety audits and inspections across all mining sites, rail corridors, and port facilities to ensure strict adherence to HSE protocols.
• Lead detailed accident and incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for high-risk activities, including blasting, heavy equipment operation, and pit slope stability monitoring.
• Mentor and train junior safety officers and site supervisors on advanced hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and ensure that mining activities do not compromise local water or soil integrity.
• Prepare and present comprehensive safety performance reports to the senior management team, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with local government regulatory bodies to ensure all mining permits and safety certifications remain valid and compliant.
• Manage the implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for all high-risk maintenance and construction tasks.

• Expert knowledge of international mining safety standards (ISO 45001) and Liberian mining laws.

Education

Experience

Salary
