Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Laboratory Microbiologist to lead our diagnostic microbiology unit in Buchanan. This critical role is essential for identifying infectious diseases, monitoring resistance patterns, and ensuring the highest standards of laboratory safety and accuracy. The successful candidate will oversee complex diagnostic procedures, manage laboratory personnel, and interpret intricate microbiological data to support clinical decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the daily operations of the microbiology laboratory to ensure high-quality diagnostic services.

• Oversee antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) to guide effective clinical treatment protocols.
• Implement and maintain rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) programs.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, media, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Train and mentor junior laboratory technicians and staff on standardized operating procedures.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to interpret complex results and provide diagnostic guidance.
• Maintain meticulous records of all laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with international health standards.
