Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Structural Integrity Engineer to join our specialized technical team in Bomi, Liberia. This role is critical to our mission of ensuring the long-term safety and durability of the massive infrastructure projects we undertake. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting advanced structural assessments, managing fatigue life analysis, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies for complex steel and concrete structures. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive structural integrity assessments on existing and new infrastructure components.
- Utilize advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to simulate stress, strain, and fatigue loads.
- Develop and implement structural health monitoring (SHM) programs using sensor technology.
- Oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) protocols to detect subsurface defects in critical joints.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize structural designs for longevity and resilience.
- Conduct detailed failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for high-risk structural elements.
- Prepare technical reports and compliance documentation for regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
- Lead on-site inspections to verify that construction aligns with approved structural models.
Required Skills
- Expertise in structural modeling software such as SAP2000, ANSYS, or Abaqus.
- In-depth knowledge of international building codes (Eurocodes, ACI, or AISC).
- Proficiency in interpreting complex technical blueprints and geotechnical reports.
- Advanced understanding of material degradation mechanisms, including corrosion and fatigue.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines.
Education
Candidates must hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized international university. A PhD in a specialized field of structural mechanics is highly desirable. Professional licensure (PE or equivalent) is a mandatory requirement for this senior-level position.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering is required. Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (bridges, dams, or high-rise buildings) is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of managing structural integrity audits and implementing complex remediation strategies in heavy industrial or civil construction settings.
Salary
