Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, unannounced safety audits and inspections of open-pit mining sites, haul roads, and processing facilities.

• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for high-risk activities including blasting and heavy equipment operation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior safety officers and site supervisors.
• Analyze safety data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with the environmental team to ensure mining activities minimize ecological impact.
• Facilitate safety training sessions and toolbox talks for diverse work crews.
