Job Overview
This role focuses on designing and implementing sustainable construction materials for infrastructure projects in Chimanimani. The specialist will collaborate with engineers, architects, and environmental scientists to develop materials that minimize carbon footprints while meeting industry standards. Key initiatives include researching locally sourced, eco-friendly alternatives to traditional construction materials and optimizing their application in real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop sustainable construction materials using recycled or renewable resources.
- Conduct feasibility studies for material adoption in infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate eco-innovative solutions into project designs.
- Monitor environmental impact metrics and report findings to stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and suppliers on sustainable material usage.
Required Skills
- Expertise in sustainable material science and life-cycle assessment.
- Proficiency in CAD software and environmental impact analysis tools.
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Knowledge of Zimbabwean construction regulations and sustainability standards.
- Ability to innovate under budgetary and logistical constraints.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Sustainable Construction preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years in construction materials development or environmental engineering.
- Proven experience in sustainable project implementation.
Salary
120,000 – 150,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
