Job Overview

This role involves leading research initiatives to develop and implement agronomic practices tailored to Zimbabwe’s diverse agro-ecological zones. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about merging agricultural science with technological innovation to drive rural economic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute field trials to evaluate crop performance under varying soil and climate conditions.
  • Collaborate with local farmers to adopt precision agriculture techniques and soil health management systems.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements in crop productivity and sustainability.
  • Develop training programs for farmers on modern agronomic practices and digital farming tools.
  • Partner with universities and research institutions to advance agricultural innovation in Zimbabwe.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in agronomy research and crop science.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, or SPSS).
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and report writing.
  • Experience with GIS mapping or remote sensing technologies.

Education

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
