Job Summary

The Driver will provide transportation and administrative support for project operations under the supervision of the Finance and Administrative Manager. The role involves safe vehicle operation, logistics support, and ensuring smooth movement of personnel and project materials.

Project Overview

This role is part of the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) Evolve Project, which supports malaria control programs through planning, implementation, and monitoring of vector control activities such as insecticide-treated nets (ITNs), indoor residual spraying (IRS), and entomological monitoring. The project also contributes to national health campaigns and distribution programs.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics

  • Drive project staff to field locations and official meetings
  • Transport equipment, supplies, and documents safely
  • Support site visits and field operations

Vehicle Management

  • Maintain vehicle logs including fuel, mileage, and trips
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and proper functioning
  • Conduct routine checks (oil, fuel, tires, safety inspections)
  • Arrange maintenance and repairs when required

Administrative Support

  • Deliver and collect official documents
  • Assist with office errands and procurement tasks
  • Support general administrative activities as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • At least 2 years of commercial driving experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and road networks
  • Strong safety awareness and driving record
  • Experience working with development projects (preferred)
  • Good time management skills
  • Fluency in English
